C-Suite Interaction Network
The ExCo as Football Team — by Fred Pelard & Claude Cowork

Interaction networks

The senior team's "shape" across six kinds of company

The pitch borrows the football pass network idea and applies it to a company's executive committee. Each circle's position shows where the role sits in the operating model — governance and control deep at the back, market-facing functions pushed forward into "attack". Circle colour marks the function family; circle size reflects the role's relative seniority and pay weight; and line thickness is the hours per month the pair spend together (minimum four). Hover any circle or line for detail.
